Custom designed Wheelchair Accessible Caravan built on an AL-KO chassis, built to a bespoke layout to meet the customers’ requirements.
The caravan size chosen by the customers was the CV451, one of the smaller caravan sizes in the Liberation range.
-The customer wanted a caravan with small overall dimensions but plenty of internal space for wheelchair manoeuvrability, so we designed an open plan interior layout, with a wide access 850mm doorway.
-3 beds were required, we provided this within the compact CV451 with a 2 seater dinette (with a third wheelchair position) which converts into a low level single bed measuring 920cm wide and 220cm long, plus a full out double sofa bed measuring 146cm wide and 183cm long
-A compact but well-equipped kitchen was created, measuring less than 1m in width, but fitted with twin gas hob, 90l fridge, microwave with grill, sink and storage cupboards. The sink and hob were fitted with glass top covers which provides additional worktop space when not in use.
-As none of the beds are fixed there is plenty of daytime seating throughout and the height adjustable dinette table add to the flexibility of this caravan interior layout. An angle adjustable TV bracket and aerial were also fitted.
-Storage is maximised with use of overhead cupboards. The layout designed also includes two full length wardrobes, alongside the wet room plus the 2nd in the middle of the caravan with two bedside tables providing additional storage
-The caravan has a large wheelchair friendly wet room measuring 183cm by 110cm with a sliding door to allow for easy wheelchair access and no obstructive thresholds.
-A hoist rail was installed during the build of the caravan, running the length of the caravan, with a specially reinforced ceiling to accommodate the weight supported by the hoist, and a person hoist fitted prior to handover.
-The removeable ramp access is a very cost-effective wheelchair access option and helps keep the overall weight of the caravan as low as possible, along with the lightweight handmade furniture that is used in all of our Liberation Motorhomes and Caravans.
-A habitation and gas safety certificate was included as standard for this customer along with a fire extinguisher, fire blanket, co2 alarm and fire alarm
-Interior fabrics chosen for this motorhome were a combination of Puzzle fabric with Corano Blanco trims with white gloss cupboards and light wood finishes creating a light and bright finish.
-Heating selection was Truma Combi 4 hot water and gas 4000w, with a dual electrical 12v / 240v system
-A Phantom Pro tracker was also fitted as per the customers insurance requirements prior to handover
