Vehicle Information

This motorhome was built in a 2019 VW Crafter in metallic indium grey. It has a 2.0 Litre TDi 177 DSG 8 speed DSG automatic gearbox, which provided a very smooth drive but with a powerful engine.

Other highlights in this top specification motor home included reverse camera and parking sensors, the vehicle is fitted with light and vision pack, discover media navigation system, and has a leather heated steering wheel.

The long wheelbase conversion in the VW Crafter offers a comfortable and spacious motor home layout, with lots of storage and a floor plan specifically designed for ease of movement in a wheelchair.

The motorhome dimensions were as below:

Wheelchair Accessibility

Wheelchair access was via a fully automatic Autolift F900 underfloor hydraulic wheelchair lift. The maximum safe load of the lift is 300kg and can accommodate chairs and scooters measuring up to 800mm x 1200mm. With a simple 4 button remote control the Autolift can be operated either by the wheelchair user or their carer. It offers safe easy access to this custom designed wheelchair friendly motorhome. Safety features include warning lights, non-slip surface, safety stop plates and an auxiliary emergency hand pump.

The driver and passenger seats were on swivel seat bases so they could be rotated when not in use to face the living area. A third travel position was provided for a wheelchair user with Q’Straint wheelchair tie downs.

The ceiling of this motorhome was specially reinforced during the build to allow for the fitting of a ceiling hoist rail, which along with the Prism Transactive Xtra hoist system provided the hoisting ability between the bathroom area in the centre and the rear bed.

Layout and Accommodation

The high-quality finish included high quality upholstery, LED lighting all around and luxury wood finish.

The layout of the rear motor home conversion consists of a rear lounge area with 2 sofas and a dining room table. The rear double doors of the VW Crafter have large windows fitted with privacy tint and can also be opened when dining. The table folds down to stow away, which when the sofas are converted to their bed position make a double bed.

There is a further single pull out sofa bed towards the front of the vehicle and an additional electric overhead bed which lowers to a bunk bed height and is accessed by a clip in step ladder with privacy curtains. Due to the large amount of sleeping space this motor home is the perfect option for a family vehicle. In total this motorhome design sleeps 5, with 2 double beds and 1 single.

Bathroom facilities consisted of a shower wet room with cassette toilet. There is a rolling shower screen to provide privacy and ensure the rest of the motor home remains completely dry when the shower is in use.

The kitchen within this motor home was fully equipped with large fridge, built in microwave / grill, double gas hob and sink. The sink and gas hob have glass covers so when they are not in use can be used as additional worktop space. There is additional cupboard space in the kitchen area also.

This motor home was also fitted with a Fiamma F65 canopy awning which is mounted to the roof of the vehicle so sits clear of the sliding side door. It is self-contained within a durable casting and is easy to set up and put away.
