Flexability
An important part of adapting a vehicle is ensuring that the adaptions don’t create their own restrictions, with this in mind all adaptions are flexible in that the vehicle can always be used with the standard production controls if being used by another driver. Some adaptions can also be adjusted daily for those customers whose condition effects them differently on different days.
Which is right for me?
External access
On many cars it's possible to fit a person hoist into the doorway of a vehicle, working in the same way any other person hoist would work, it allows a user to be transferred from their wheelchair outside the car to a seat indie the car with minimum fuss. There are limitations to which cars can have this adaption so it's important to check compatibility with your car of choice.
Internal access
Working in the same way as external access, an internal person hoist allows a user to be transferred to a seat within the vehicle safely, this option is more suitable to larger vehicles with the internal height required to achieve a comfortable transfer.
Roof mounted
For use in larger van-based vehicles, this type of hoist is identical to that used within the home or care settings. Used in the same way, it allows safe and effective transfer from one part of a vehicle to another, whether that's to a seat, a stretcher, a changing bed or even a shower in a camper conversion
