Flexability
An important part of adapting a vehicle is ensuring that the adaptions don’t create their own restrictions, with this in mind all adaptions are flexible in that the vehicle can always be used with the standard production controls if being used by another driver. Some adaptions can also be adjusted daily for those customers whose condition effects them differently on different days.
Which is right for me?
Mechanical swivel seats
This option allows a user's to mechanically rotate the seat to give better access, often used in conjunction with a banana board or fitted transfer plate
6 way seating
A six-way seat is designed for those customers who transfer to the driver's seat internally, usually within a wheelchair accessible vehicle, the seat can rotate, adjust up and down and forwards and backwards, this enables the driver to position the seat next to the wheelchair, transfer across the move to a comfortable driving position.
Specialist turn out seating
Some versions of turn out seating works in conjunction with your wheelchair, for example, the seat of the wheelchair is shared with the car – once the seat framework is rotated out of the vehicle the driver can then attach the wheelchair seat and slide into the vehicle seat base, from here access is the same as a Turney seat. This system is specific to one make of wheelchair but can offer those who need their specific seat all the time.
Turney seating
Available with a wide range of options, this adaptation can be manual or electric. The seat can be rotated so it is facing outside the vehicle then lowered down to give you a comfortable transfer, once on the seat it is then raised and rotated back into the vehicle. The movement of the seat is programmed to suit the exact contours of the car and door aperture.
