Giving you freedom
Wheelchairs and scooters give people with limited mobility the chance to get moving in and around the home. But if you want to travel further afield, installing a hoist in your vehicle will allow you to take your mobility device with you, without necessarily having to change your car.
To suit your needs
Here at Brook Miller Mobility we offer a wide range of quality stowage solutions for your specific needs. We fit the full range of boot hoists provided by 2 of the market leading brands; Autochair and Brig-Ayd. The Brig-Ayd hoists are suitable for scooters and wheelchairs weighing between 40kg and 150kg. For heavier scooters Autochair have a Smart Lifter that can lift up to 200kg.
A bespoke service
The hoist is fitted within the boot of your vehicle and is suitable for a wide range of makes and models of cars – just as long as the boot opening is sufficient to fit the scooter inside. If you have any questions about the suitability of a boot hoist for your vehicle, please contact us.
Flexability
Your car does not need to be brand new to have a boot hoist fitted or purchased through Brook Miller Mobility. If you have a boot hoist fitted and you purchase a new car, in most cases we can transfer the hoist into the new vehicle.
Which is right for me?
Boot storage
The most common type of wheelchair hoist, this adaption is mounted in the boot and allows a user to lift the wheelchair or scooter into the boot with ease. Boot hoists are always electrically operated for up down movement and can be electrical or mechanical for the in and out function. Due to the space required its often the case that some if not all the rear seats are required to be folded down so it's important to check compatibility for your car of choice.
Roof mounted storage
If the boot space and rear seating is something that you need, then a roof mounted option could be right for you. Similar in looks to a roof box, it opens via remote control, lowers an arm to retrieve the wheelchair then safely stows in in the roof box. Size and shape of wheelchair dictate the suitability of this product.
Robotic storage
Another boot mounted product, perfect for someone who requires full independence. A robotic arm is mounted in the boot, once you gave transferred to the driver's seat, the arm reaches from the boot, programmed to follow the contours of the vehicle precisely, retrieves the wheelchair and stows in the boot. Mostly suite to estate cars and like roof mounted storage depends on the type and weight of the wheelchair.
